It’s that time of the year again when we head to our gardens and terraces to enjoy the long summer days! Fermob continues to liven up our exteriors with its joyful and functional outdoor furniture, inspired by classic history of garden products. The French company, located just outside of Lyon, has over a dozen collections in various shapes and a multitude of colors that embody the French ‘joie de vivre’.  Fermob’s pieces can be seen all around the world in such famous places as the Luxembourg Garden, Times Square or Google headquarters. Several of the garden chairs and tables are foldable or stackable, which comes handy for storage and to keep extra pieces for large dinner parties. While Fermob furnishing is designed for use outdoors with an anti-corrosive finish, why not using a few pieces inside as well? The fun part is to pick up colors among the 23 eye-popping shades, and to mix and match them for a unique look. I personally have a thing for the vivid and fresh Verbena green!

The fabulous rugs from Swedish company Mattahari are designed by the very talented Ingrid Külper, who believes that forms and colours influence our sense of wellbeing - I cannot agree more. Her designs are inspired by the sacred geometry found in nature, from snowflakes to the human body. So her carpets are decorating spas and yoga studio as well as private homes. I absolutely like the sculptural shapes and my favorite pattern is Crown, which reminds me of a flat pinecone. Even the rugs names are inspiring, such as Seed of Life or Lotus. All carpets are handtufted and made from 100% New Zealand wool, mixed with bamboo silk for the softness and shine. Mattahari rug Crown

With all the snow and frozen landscape outside, I am craving for bright colors. So I’m happily sharing the resurgence of fluo, a spring 2012 trend spotted in an Australian magazine I recently bought in the US. Neon colors are fusing with pastels and neutrals injecting optimistic tones to chase the winter blues away!
